Join The Adventure As Playful Puffins Encounter Fire And Ice

Summertime in Iceland means nearly 24 hours of glistening sunlight each day—perfect for lighting the way for adventurous little puffins. But when two puffin friends, Árni and Birta, embark upon a journey of exploration, an Icelandic Faery plays clever tricks on them, making their grand adventure take longer than expected. The extended darkness of September’s nightfall looms large on the horizon, and the pufflings must find their way home in a hurry.

Puffins Encounter Fire & Ice is the third installment in RA Anderson’s delightful Iceland: The Puffin Explorers Series, and this time around, Iceland’s natural wonders take center stage. Árni and Birta discover glaciers, volcanoes, natural energy, lava fields, waterfalls and some of the legendary folk of Iceland. But as nightfall draws closer, Árni’s parents must step up their frantic search for these two curious puffins to help guide them back to their burrows before dark. Will they succeed? Join the adventure to find out!

Although intended for children who have a love for all animals, birds and nature, adults will find that these books hold a unique type of travelogue, complete with fun facts and breath-taking photography shot by the author as she explored the beautiful country of Iceland.

Puffins Encounter Fire & Ice follows in the webbed footsteps of Puffins Take Flight and Puffins off the Beaten Path, the first two books in Anderson’s entertaining and educational Puffin Explorers Series.

One Man’s Desperate Search For A Cure Reignites His Faith

A life-limiting diagnosis, or even the ever-present dark cloud of a life-threatening food allergy, can be devastating for those affected. Where there are no concrete answers is where it’s natural to want them the most, and in his powerful true story, The Battle for Healing: How I Learned to Trust God and Fight to Triumph Over My Sickness, John Mouser chronicles his years of illness and his desperate search for answers that modern medicine couldn’t provide.

“Sickness can happen to anyone. The only thing we control is our perspective while in that season,” Mouser said. “To know God as healer, you must first need healing beyond what modern medicine can achieve.”

Mouser’s journey to find a cure led him to many doctors and specialists with whom he consulted, only to be prescribed medication to help him cope — not the solutions he sought. Throughout his fight to live, his faith was being tested. Would God give him the strength to recover? Did God even care?

Then, in an unexpected way, God healed him.

The Battle for Healing contrasts the ugliness of illness with the beauty of God’s healing power, which Mouser called “a genuine miracle.”

John Mouser, former alcoholic, addict and prisoner now resides in Rochester, MN. John has been married to his dream wife Christine for 7 years, with son Deacon Bentley and new addition, daughter Paisley Faith. Also a public speaker, Mouser has addressed audiences that have included middle school students, support groups, the incarcerated and youth organizations. His message is from a heart of compassion to help others in a journey of overcoming sin and finding true, lasting freedom in Christ Jesus. He is currently enrolled in a Bible college to become an ordained minister.

To Compete And Win In The Digital Era, Think Like Amazon

“What would Jeff Bezos do?” Since leaving Amazon to advise start-ups and corporations, John Rossman has been asked this question countless times by executives who want to know “the secret” behind Amazon’s historic success.

Rossman expertly responds in his step-by-step guide, Think Like Amazon: 50 ½ Ideas to Become a Digital Leader. Drawing from his experience as an Amazon executive, Rossman shows today’s business leaders how to think like Amazon, strategize like Bezos and beat the competition like nobody’s business.

“Every business leader wants to know how to be more customer-centric, how to operate better and how to innovate on a systematic basis,” Rossman said. “As a former Amazon executive and now as an advisor to many innovative companies, big and small, I get to see these concepts and practices put into place.”

Between the covers of Think Like Amazon, Rossman shows readers how to:

•Move forward to get back to Day 1―and change the status quo
•Become a platform company―with the right platform strategy
•Create customer obsession―and grant customers superpowers
•Experiment, fail, rinse and repeat
•Decentralize their way to digital greatness
•Master the magic of small autonomous teams
•Avoid the trap of past positions
•Make better and faster decisions
•And much more!

In addition to these targeted strategies, readers will get a rare glimpse inside how Jeff Bezos and Amazon take a remarkably consistent approach to innovate, explore new markets and spark new growth. Readers will understand the unique mindset and inner workings that drive Amazon’s operational excellence, from its ground-up approach to new digital markets to its out-of-the-box attitudes on innovation. Rossman also offers invaluable insights into the latest technologies, e-commerce marketing, online culture and IoT disruptions that only an Amazon insider would know.

Rossman has signed with 13 foreign publishers to release non-English versions of Think Like Amazon.

“The storytelling and credibility that Rossman brings translate not only to so many lan-guages, but also to the desire for business leaders across the globe to understand what they can take from Amazon’s management playbook into their own organizations,” added Jim Levine, Levine|Greenberg|Rostan Literary Agency.

Author and former Amazon executive John Rossman is a sought-after keynote speaker and business strategist. Rossman is most known for launching and scaling the Amazon Market-place, which Jeff Bezos called “one of his magical businesses,” accounting for over 50 per-cent of all Amazon units sold and shipped. Rossman also served as Director of Enterprise Services at Amazon.com under CEO Jeff Bezos. Since leaving Amazon, Rossman has ad-vised clients across most industry verticals on innovation, digital strategy and culture as Managing Partner of Rossman Partners.

Powerful True Story Chronicles Woman’s Triumph After Unspeakable Heartaches

In 1979, life changed dramatically for Soheila Adelipour and her family. Fleeing chaos and persecution in Iran following the Islamic revolution and landing in New York, this family found stability there and worked hard to achieve education, jobs, spouses and children. But life had yet to take its cruelest toll.

Chronicling their experiences in Dancing to the Darkest Light, Adelipour recounts how her only brother became a neurosurgeon while others followed different paths. But their successful relocation and the joy they felt over each triumph was soon shattered when the Adelipour’s second son, Stefan, was killed in a dorm room fire before his scheduled graduation from Boston University.

Adelipour channeled her grief into the foundation she established in his name. Soon after, her older sister had to undergo five brain surgeries that left her blind and deaf before ultimately claiming her life. The same week, their only brother who was supervising her care was diagnosed with leukemia. Adelipour gave him her bone marrow and 60 percent of her liver when his liver stopped functioning. Doctors ultimately announced he was cancer-free with a perfectly functioning liver, but the week he was to come home, he died from pneumonia.

How one perseveres under the weight of all this loss is at the core of Dancing to the Darkest Light. “When life plays different music, we have to be fluid and dance to the new tune,” Adelipour said.

Adelipour received her bachelor’s degree in business and her master’s degree in Art Gallery Management while her first two children were in diapers. She was involved with the World of Arts and Antiques in New York City and followed that by operating high-end gift stores.

AM I … Guides Readers Toward Personal, Authentic Faith

There is a crisis of faith in today’s world, but it’s probably not what you think. The crisis isn’t that people have stopped believing, it’s that believers don’t have deep, personal connections with what they believe in.

The concepts of faith and belief have been relegated to holy books filled with stories that happened a long time ago. Believers may revere the book, but never read it. They may believe strongly in one religion or another, without really understanding what their religion stands for. As a result, God has become an impersonal, generic concept that sits on the outskirts of daily life, governing from on high in a place far, far away.

Building a life of authentic, personal faith must begin with truly understanding what we have faith in, if we have faith in anything at all, explains author and international speaker Scott MacLellan.

In his book, Am I, MacLellan masterfully guides believers deeper into a personal relationship with the God they worship, whomever that may be. The goal of Am I is not to tell readers what to believe, but to uncover what they already believe on a personal level. Through questions posed to God himself, AM I takes readers beyond the faith of their childhood and community and into a faith that is specific and unique to their lives.

MacLellan has written two versions of Am I. The shortened edition, Am I … The Four Fun-damentals of Faith, is for newer believers who might still be exploring what faith really means. The full version, Am I … Building a Life of Personal Faith, is for the evolving believer. It covers all the material in the condensed version plus several additional topics.

Author, international speaker on faith and entrepreneur Scott MacLellan has impacted multiple organizations whose missions are to help the impoverished, the addicted or those who struggle with illness. When not speaking on one of these subjects, he can be found working with a skilled team of business leaders, or on the coast of South Carolina where he shares his home with his wife of 34 years and his amazing 7-year-old grandson. He has two grown daughters, and more grandchildren are on the way.

Many Of Life’s Questions Answered At WordsForAll.org

Dr. Pieter Noomen was a remarkably insightful writer. He wanted to help us believe that some things are possible – even if they can’t be proven. He personally experienced a profound connection with the source of all existence and he shares these experiences through his writings at www.wordsforall.org. For anyone not wanting to wait until the end of their earthly life for answers, they can easily access the website at any time.

Born in the Netherlands, Pieter Noomen completed doctoral studies in theology and pastoral psychology at the Free University of Amsterdam and was senior minister of three protestant churches. He later worked as a psychotherapist and staff member of a Los Angeles metropolitan church.

Dr. Noomen passed away earlier this year but it was his desire to leave the website open so people can visit it as often as they please to enjoy his writings. Dr. Noomen shared what he discovered through transcendent experiences — something he asserts can be achieved by every human being who is willing to open his or her mind to the information from the universe.

An example of what you will find at Dr. Noomen’s informative website:

“From someone who doesn’t consider himself to be any wiser than you, readers, probably are. The secret is that I don’t create wisdom. It’s given to me on my deepest spiritual level. Like my other body-parts know how to function, so my brains do – if I let them. In other words, it is given to us by the core-spirit of all being: by the One Who Is the Life Force in everything. We on earth are clearly badly disconnected from that Source. Yet, as this website shows, not completely. Direct contact is possible, if we want it. It enables us to see the truth and to share its wisdom. This comes from being a genuine and caring person.”
