MEG: Bestselling Giant Shark Thriller Released As A New 20th Anniversary Edition; To Be A Major Motion Picture

West Palm Beach, FL – Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water … MEG by NY Times and international bestselling author, Steve Alten, is back with an all-new expanded 20th anniversary edition mass market paperback and a motion picture from Warner Brothers, to be directed by Eli Roth. The new novel, to be released this week by VIPER PRESS (a division of A&M Publishers) includes a never-before published prequel and 17 original graphic illustrations.

MEG is currently utilized by thousands of high school teachers in the US, in collaboration with Alten’s non-profit, Adopt-An-Author reading program. The free program is designed to excite young adults to read through the use of page-turning thrillers and through direct contact with the authors.

Steve Alten has kept his fans in awe through MEG and its sequels. It’s been a dream for many of them to see MEG on the big screen. Now that dream will become a reality. “I remember reading JAWS as a teen,” says Alten. “The book and movie got me interested in Great White sharks, which led me to Carcharodon Megalodon, the species’ 70-foot, 70,000 pound prehistoric cousin. Twenty years later I penned the first draft of MEG. It took another twenty years to get the movie greenlit. The MEGheads have been champing at the bit, but I know it’ll be worth the wait. And this new version of the MEG novel is light years above the original.”

NY Times and international bestselling author Steve Alten penned MEG in the days when he was struggling to support his family of five. MEG was a labor of love and a storyline he had been thinking about for years. After selling his car to pay for his editing fees, Alten could only wait to see how the book would be received. His tireless nights and weekends spent writing resulted in a two-book, seven-figure deal with Bantam Doubleday. Fast-forward nearly 20 years and Alten has delighted his fans with MEG sequels and now the promise of enjoying MEG on the big screen.

NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen Says Lionheart Fitness Kids Coaches Are Some Of The Most Inspiring Coaches He Has Ever Met

Los Angeles, CA – NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen says: “Some of the best lessons I have learned were through great coaches. They were Life Lessons – not just game strategies or tactics. Lionheart Fitness Kids provides these very same valuable moments and memories, and from some of the most inspiring coaches I have ever met.”

Having “fun” is serious business at Lionheart Fitness Kids. The program, an award-winning, patented sports enrichment program delivering the FUNdamentals of sports, life lessons and nutrition for kids 2-5 years old, began with just seven children and now has reached more than 50,000 kids since it began in 2008. Lionheart Fitness Kids is currently operating in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego, Chicago and Denver and is available to children through schools, corporations and park programs.

The program is simple. It was developed by experts in the fields of nutrition, child development and physical education, with two criteria to uphold:

Teach fundamentals of sports in a fun, non-competitive environment
Train the coaches with patented methods and hold them accountable.

The end result: Healthy self-esteem, positive thinking, leadership, courage, responsibility, integrity, good sportsmanship, motor skills and social skills.

“Our program is authentic, our coaches are accountable and we always put the children first,” states Coach John. “A Lionheart coach understands that all children have greatness inside of them. It is our job to find that greatness, nurture it and inspire every child to feel special.”

Lionheart Fitness Kids just launched a special certificate program to train more coaches to handle their nationwide expansion. For more information, please visit: www.LionheartFitnessKids.com and www.mylfk.com.

Lionheart Fitness Kids founder, John “Coach John” Skoryna, has dedicated his life to teaching children life skills through fitness and nutrition and considers it an honor to be a role model for them. Skoryna is a lifelong athlete, and notably he coached a competitive hockey team in San Diego that won a national championship title and a bronze medal in the Jr. Olympics. He taught his teams the techniques he learned specific to visualization and the power of positive thinking – and now children at Lionheart Fitness Kids also benefit from his methods.

National Enquirer’s Own Columnist, Mike Walker, Pens Yet Another Winner In Out For Blood

Houston, TX – Mike Walker, veteran columnist for the National Enquirer and accomplished author, is the only reporter to have ever written two bestselling books on the same major story! This was accomplished when he penned Nicole Brown Simpson: Private Diary of a Life Interrupted with Faye Resnick which hit the #1 New York Times bestselling spot and, just months later, Private Diary of an OJ Juror, co-written with Michael Knox, which hit the #5 spot.

This highly respected author is now drawing rave reviews for his latest hilarious book, Out for Blood. In true form, Walker’s lead character is Clark, who just happens to be the #1 go-to guy for gossip in Hollywood and who makes a living by revealing everyone’s secrets. But only a handful of people know he’s a vampire. This proves to be a real bonus since he uses his power to get the best scoop on the hottest stars of the day!

Mike, a record-breaking regular on Howard Stern’s top-rated radio show for 16 years, has been dubbed “the Hemingway of gossip” by shock-jock Stern. Walker’s inimitable skill as a storyteller, coupled with his charm and unassuming wit, has made him an all-time favorite on television and radio and a repeat guest on such top TV shows as Nightline, Larry King Live, The O’Reilly Factor, Maury, Nancy Grace, Joan Rivers, A Current Affair, Entertainment Tonight, and Politically Incorrect. (Note: Nancy Grace, in her novel The Eleventh Victim, featured “Mike Walker of Snoop Magazine.”)

Mike hosted the nationally syndicated ‘Mike Walker Show’ on the Westwood One Network (CBS) for years that was heard on 165 stations nationwide and 24 BBC affiliates and independent stations throughout Great Britain. He was also co-anchor on ‘Geraldo,’ making more appearances than any other guest on that show ever! He then created and hosted the MGM-TV hit series, “National Enquirer TV.” Although best known for his skills as Hollywood’s #1 source of celebrity gossip, Mike Walker is also the highly respected author of several successful books to date, including the novel Malicious Intent.

Walker has lectured on journalism and gossip at such distinguished journalism schools as the University of California at Berkeley and Columbia University. He also scored the prestigious invitation to become a Fellow of Ireland’s legendary Trinity College, Dublin.
Walker and his wife of 40 years live in both Palm Beach, Florida, and in Los Angeles, California. They raised two children, both of whom are grown.

Cali Sky And The Muses Nine: A Memorable And Inspiring Coming-Of-Age Tale

North Palm Beach, FL – Imaginative and mythic, Cali Sky and the Muses Nine is a coming-of-age tale from Joe Ladbroke.

When nine-year-old Cali Sky Braithewaite discovers an acoustic guitar mysteriously left in her bedroom closet, the muses descend, possessing her for the next fifteen years, tantalizing her with visions of a musical ideal.

By 1980 disco was dead, punk had reared its pissed-off head, New Wave had washed ashore, and Cali Sky remained oblivious to it all, thanks to her protective parents. Until she meets Brodie, who knocks on her door one day with a self-assured smile and a Pee Chee folder adorned with the handwritten names of the latest countercultural bands. She teaches him how to play guitar, he introduces her to KROQ-FM and the musical underground spreading all around her parents’ southern California home.

Together they explore the possibilities of their instruments and the limits of friendship as they seek inspiration, rooted in Cali Sky’s beauty-pained visions as well as her discoveries of the unexpected intersections between rock and roll and her parents’ hidden past.

Within a framework of Greek and Roman mythology, Ladbroke spins a classic rock-and-roll fable. His elaborate writing style complements the tone, sometimes adopting the cynical voice of youth against older generations, other times assuming the voice of adulation, paying homage to music history. The result is an unforgettable story of talent, inspiration and heartbreak.

Joe Ladbroke is a literature professor and amateur musician who has lived in Las Vegas, London and Southern California. He currently resides on the east coast of Florida.

The Naked Truth: Hollywood’s Secrets Unveiled

Los Angeles, CA – Award winning costume designer Jean-Pierre Dorléac pulls back the fitting room curtains as well as the doors to the executive suites of Hollywood from 1973 to 1985, in an uproarious account, The Naked Truth, covering the end of classic glamour.

In the ‘70s the corporations started buying out the dying studios that couldn’t combat television’s sudden appeal. Soon the glitter faded from big-budget productions when the economy forced the new moguls to buy independents films for next to nothing.

This very funny and quite fortuitous success story spans 12 years of copious Hollywood productions. The splashy tales are filled with entertaining confrontations involving glamour, politics, graft, sex, scandal, and heretofore, untold tales of the glitter and tinsel capital’s assets being sold off by the new capitalist.

Music And Coexistence: Using Music To Bridge The Gap Between Nations In A Troubled World

Houston, TX – The power of music is legendary. Not too long ago, one musician decided to ask the question – and then set out to find the answer by traveling the globe: can music help bridge gaps between people? The answer proved a resounding “yes,” and for proof author Osseily Hanna offers his fascinating book, Music and Coexistence: A Journey across the World in Search of Musicians Making a Difference (Rowman & Littlefield Publishing).

What at first seemed a simple question soon proved not so simple. “Musicians from across the world helped me get closer to answering this question,” says Osseily Hanna, the author. “I wanted to find musicians who break boundaries and traditional modes of thinking to create a ray of hope.”

He found them building bridges through music in a world where animosities are all too visible. “On everyone’s mind presently are conflicts in Syria, Iraq, and between Russia and Ukraine, but we know these will keep shifting. This past summer it was Gaza; before then it was Darfur. What I’m tapping is something bigger, looking at the ways music breaks down the walls nations and sometimes even communities work so hard to erect.”

Music and Coexistence explores the courageous work of musicians who compose and perform with their ostensible enemies or in extraordinary social situations. Hanna documents the political and economic constraints faced by musicians, from the wall that encloses a refugee camp in Jerusalem, to the tensions among KFOR and Carabinieri peacekeepers who keep Serbs and Kosovar Albanians apart, to the cultural and linguistic suppression that afflicts minority communities in Turkey.

Hanna talks to the individuals and groups at the forefront of the effort to bridge ethnic, cultural, and religious divisions. Featuring musicians from thirteen different countries and territories across five continents, Hanna’s story includes a remarkable cadre of performers. These include the musicians who comprise Heartbeat, a group of Israeli and Palestinian youth, who compose, record, and perform music together; the Albino musicians of Tanzania, who regularly combat persecution by local shamans; the multiracial and thriving samba musicians in Sao Paolo, and a former child soldier from Cambodia who seeks to revive traditional music following the genocide in the 1970s.

With photos taken by the author during his travels, this work is a remarkable intersection of world music and peace studies. It will open the eyes and the hearts of every musician and music lover who recognizes music as a universal language. The companion film was recently screened at the Amnesty International Film Festival in Vancouver.

Osseily Hanna was born in London, where he began violin lessons at the age of eight and played with the North London Symphony Orchestra in 2005. He gave up a successful career in global financial markets in 2011 to develop Music and Coexistence as a film and book project. Fluent in English and Spanish, he has also studied Arabic, French, Italian, and Turkish.
