Women Who Still Love Cats Too Much: Hiss-terical Look at Feline’s Biggest Fans

A when-is-enough-enough (Never!) guide that helps women pinpoint the warning signs of cat codependency so they can course correct and get their lives back—should they really want to—combined with real-life examples of the lengths women go to please their puddies.

Norwalk, CT – Do you gather fur from your cat’s brush to make earrings? Do you reek of Feliway? Ever contemplated plastic surgery to resemble your puddy? Over-the-top behavior? Maybe. But for women who’re on a never-ending quest to prove their love to their kitties, cat codependent comportment such as this is the norm.

Now there’s a book that comes clean about what many would consider cause for ten-step programs and heavy medication: Women Who Still Love Cats Too Much (HCI Books — $10.95). Written with compassion by bestselling feline author, Allia Zobel Nolan, and chockfull of hiss-terical illustrations by Sylvia cartoonist, Nicole Hollander, Women Who Still Love Cats Too Much validates the challenges women go through to do more, be more, give more to the fur balls who share (and rule) their lives. Then, too, it makes women entangled in this self-depreciating web feel better about themselves as they realize they are not alone.

“I know there are women out there who try (many in vain) to cover up their addiction to pleasing their puddies,” says Zobel Nolan. “I’m one of them. So I reprised this book for two reasons: to throw cold water in their faces so they snap out of their dilemma and get a life (fat chance), and failing that, to let feline-addicted women know they’re a member of a silent sorority who find it impossible to look into their cat’s heart-wrenching eyes and say that callous two-letter word ‘No.’ ”

“Women like us wouldn’t think twice about hiring a personal trainer to exercise our cats’ arms and legs while they nap, so the babies don’t have to expend the energy,” confides Zobel Nolan. “It’s just the kind of thing we do, and Women Who Still Love Cats Too Much finally clears the air about it… I’m just hoping readers will find themselves in these pages and learn to appreciate and laugh at the things we do for love.”

About the author:

Allia Zobel Nolan is an internationally-published, award-winning author of over 200 children’s and adult trade titles. Her books reflect her two main passions, God and cats, and include such varied titles as Purr More, Hiss Less: Heavenly Lessons I Learned from My Cat, Cat Confessions: A Kitty-Come-Clean Tell-All Book, The Ten Commandments for Little Ones, The Worrywart’s Prayer Book and Whatever: Livin’ the True, Noble, Totally Excellent Life

Zobel Nolan lives and loves her puddies way too much in Connecticut with her husband, Desmond Finbarr Nolan, and their feline children, Sineady Cat, the Fraidy Cat, and Nolan Nolan.

About the illustrator:

Nicole Hollander created and produced the syndicated cartoon strip, Sylvia, for a gazillion years. She blogs six days a week at www.Badgirlchats.com and offers a Sylvia archival strip every day—as well as links to politics, cultural commentary and, of course, more cat videos than you can shake a stick at!

The author is available for interviews and/or to commiserate with women who love their cats too much any time. Please call Kim Weiss at the number above for more information.

Entertaining Whimsical Children’s Books Combined With Educational Twists Are A Win-Win For Parents At This Magical Time Of The Year

Los Angeles, CA – Singer-songwriter and children’s book author Nancy Guettier finds the inspiration in each of her adopted children to write entertaining and educational stories. Guettier has very cleverly included educational twists in each of her books, and her whimsical and fun style makes learning effortless. Nancy donates a portion of the Nancyland book proceeds to Habitat for Humanity.

The five-book series from prominent publisher Morgan James Kids includes: Mermaids on Mars, Roy G. Biv is Mad at Me Because I LOVE PINK!, Circus in the Sky, Jude’s Moon, and I Wish.

She shares a little information on each book:

Mermaids on Mars is an award-winning book which was recently completed as a short film and won Best Animated Short Award at the 2015 Carmel International Film Festival, and has also been accepted into several other upcoming film festivals.

“This is a whimsical story about mermaids – when they lived on Mars. Mermaids thrived in Mars’ crater pools and used up all of the water resources, splashing around. Thanks to a very cool rocket ship, the mermaids travelled to Earth and settled in our oceans. This book also helps children learn the importance of water conservation.”

“Roy G. Biv is Mad at Me Because I LOVE PINK! is centered around Genevieve who loves splashing in puddles after a rain shower. Mostly, Genevieve loves pink; however, pink is not a color in the rainbow. Understandably that upsets Roy G. Biv, who convinces her to experience all the colors of the rainbow.”

“This little gem is a delightfully entertaining read. Julian dreams he is the ring leader of the constellations in Circus in the Sky. He discovers Leo the Lion, the Gemini twins and the rest of the sky’s 88 constellations.”

“In Jude’s Moon, Jude loves the moon so much that he believes he is the one who hung it in the sky. Throughout the story, Jude examines the phases of the moon, as well as fun facts about the sun.”

Guettier’s most recent book, I Wish, is about friendship and the importance of a best friend. “Genevieve and Ariana find a magic wand and are excited to explore all of the magic it can provide. They learn, however, that despite their whimsical journey of wishing, dreaming and discovering, all they really need is each other.”

“Adopting my children was a blessing and they inspired me to pour my creativity into writing children’s books,” says Guettier. “It’s important to me to provide kids, not only entertainment, but educational value as well. My hope is that children around the globe will love these books so much, they will read them again and again.”

Bullying Has No Boundaries; Two Books That Deal With The Issues Facing Kids And Adults Today

New York, NY – Peter A. Sacco has written scripts for TV commercials, as well as for movie production companies. He worked with Academy Award winner Joe Mayer and also wrote the Vices commercial which premiered at the Boston Film Festival. As evidenced by his latest books, this award-winning executive producer is determined to end bullying and relationship violence, and has teamed up with actor/director Mitch Markowitz to create a PSA on bullying.

His exciting new children’s book should be on everyone’s holiday gift-giving list. Gummer: The Last Toothless Vampire (DoctorZed Publishing) is a heartwarming and exciting story children will love.

James Reed is a foster child who has been bullied throughout his entire short life. Through a chance encounter, he meets Ted ─ a toothless vampire ─ who was bitten while living rough on the mean city streets. Not long after, the vampire who bit him was destroyed leaving Ted as the last of his kind and ….fangless! James is on a quest to find his mother with the help of his toothless vampire friend, but how far will a vampire go to make a lonely kid’s dream come true? The differences in this unlikely couple actually end up helping their two souls bond together and the outcome has James reuniting with his mother in a tale so engaging, it’s sure to make Gummer the next holiday tradition.

We often think bullying is reserved for kids and situations that happen in schools, but what about the bullying of adults? In Bullying for Adults: Big Fish in a Small Pond, Peter details different types of bullies, what makes someone become a bully, the forms in which it occurs, the types of abusive/dominating behavior, who’s likely to be a victim, the warning signs, and offers advice on how not to become a victim, and much more. This eBook is available at no charge to help get the word out.

Regardless of whether it’s on social media or some other venue, Internet bullying has become a serious issue for both children and adults today, and its emotional effect can create mental health problems for victims that last a lifetime. Peter Sacco is a strong advocate for stopping all relationship violence for every age group.

Peter Sacco is a recipient of the Award of Excellence in Teaching, lecturing at universities both in the US and Canada, and is also an Adjunct Psychology Professor at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY, in the Teacher Education Program. A bestselling author, psychology professor and former private practitioner, Peter has also written over 500 articles in media/magazines as well as several book reviews for Prentice-Hall Publishing. He is a regularly featured guest on television and radio, and is the host of a highly popular weekly radio show. As an award-winning executive producer, he has hosted many documentaries on relationships, psychological issues and children’s issues. A Lifelong Storyteller Writes Twelve Books in Twelve Months

Seattle, WA – Contemporary romance author Vi Zetterwall is no stranger to dreaming up stories. As a child, her sister would encourage her to tell herself a story until she fell asleep. It’s twenty-eight years later and Zetterwall, author of The Single Heart Series, is still telling stories. She decided a year ago to write novellas – not one, but twelve – with the caveat of completing the entire series within a year.

While many series are based on characters, Zetterwall’s The Single Heart Series follows The Coin of Luck in Life and Love. In each book, the female lead receives the coin. Each book celebrates life and love in Seattle, and the coin plays a significant role in the journey and choices these women make. Afterwards, the coin is passed on to someone new, which in turn, drives the plot to the next book.

“Amazon has made it easy for authors to publish their work,” says Zetterwall. While she originally began writing a novel, her labor of love (at 200 pages) wasn’t even a quarter of the way written. She worked on it for 7 years and she says “It’s still collecting dust.”

Upon seeing the activity on Amazon, Zetterwall decided to write novellas (35,000 to 65,000 words). She found that she could deliver the shorter novellas quickly, and reviews from her readers show that Zetterwall has created a dedicated following. Common threads from reviewers compliment Zetterwall on her writing style, dialogues and unexpected twists.

No stranger to pain, Lesia suffered a serious burn injury over 50% of her face and body at the age of nine in a natural gas explosion. Because of what she experienced on the long road to healing, she has devoted her life to helping others in their journey.

In her authentic open voice, Heart of Fire demonstrates how to discover blessings and gifts within any type of challenge. Throughout her life and those of the lives she touches, Heart of Fire shares the importance of opening our hearts to deeply heal what blocks our life’s pathway. Lesia has transformed her pain into a life of passion and purpose. She insists that we are here on Earth to do more than simply survive. Lesia Cartelli has not only found the blessings in her tragedy, she has touched many hearts and souls through her innovative and passionate work, Angel Faces®.

Cartelli founded Angel Faces®, a unique, national nonprofit organization, which provides healing retreats and ongoing support that inspires adolescent girls and young women with burn/trauma injuries to achieve their optimum potential so they may develop meaningful relationships for them, their families, and their communities.

Heart of Fire also teaches about the power of embracing your fears. Resiliency and courage motivated Cartelli to face her fear of fire at age thirty-three. She suited up in breathing apparatus, full firefighting gear, and entered a burning building known as a “control burn.” Her fear now conquered, she married the fire captain who led her into the fire to face her fears. In Heart of Fire, Lesia shares her life-changing experience in conquering her own fear in hopes that she will inspire others.

Angel Faces Retreat – Truly A Soft Place To Fall, A Solid Foundation For Growth

Encinitas, CA – For young girls with severe and permanent disfigurement from burns or other traumatic injuries, the cruelty of the world can be almost unbearable. The stares, name-calling, teasing and cruelty of others create a sort of living hell for this special group of survivors. Lesia Cartelli knows this is true, because she lived through it herself. Her desire to heal from a serious burn injury over 50% of her face and body at the age of nine in a natural gas explosion encouraged her to create Angel Faces® for girls who suffer similar disfiguring burns and other traumatic injuries.

Angel Faces® is a national, not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Encinitas, California, whose mission is to provide healing retreats and ongoing support for adolescent girls and young women with severe and permanent disfigurement from burn/trauma injuries to achieve their optimum potential and develop meaningful relationships for themselves, their families, and their communities.

This year, the retreat for adolescent girls with severe disfigurements will be held in Wolfeboro, NH from June 21-28, with a Level 2 Retreat being added for Leadership and Mentorship training, to include Emotional Intelligence, at Brewster Academy for women ages 19-29. The girls attending this retreat are flown in from cities all around the nation.

During the multi-day intensive retreat, survivors hear first-hand from Cartelli and others who have endured serious traumatic injuries and the long road to recovery. The young girls work closely with licensed therapists to share and explore ways to facilitate emotional healing and meet others with similar struggles. They learn new tools that will help them increase their self-esteem, decrease their depressive symptoms, and have a better quality of life. Most important of all, they are given hope that they can create the life they desire through empowerment.

“The retreat is only one small component,” Cartelli explains. “We see the power in the program when the girls go back home. We receive calls, cards and emails from the parents and medical centers about how confident and content their daughter or patient is since she has returned — she joined a sports or academic team at school or now is going to prom, or interviewing for a first job, ending their social death.”

The unique retreats and aftercare programs focus on the healing process within a holistic framework of mind, heart, and spirit. In addition to art therapy and private, corrective-cosmetic sessions, the program provides licensed therapists to help the girls through their loss and trauma issues, and provides the girls with strategies to handle staring and teasing. The goal of Angel Faces® is to offer a physical, spiritual, and emotional transformation so each girl walks away with a new confidence and a hopeful outlook toward the future with the skills to be excited about their life.

In addition to being a renowned, in-demand speaker and the founder/CEO of Angel Faces®, Lesia Cartelli now adds author to her vast range of talents, having just released her new book, Heart of Fire (Carlyle Publishing). In her authentic open voice, Lesia delivers hope and inspiration to those who are struggling with pain, emotional or physical, and demonstrates how to discover blessings and gifts within any type of challenge. For anyone who has been through hard times and seeks inspiration and hope, this heart-warming, often humorous, book is a must read.

For more information on the retreat or to donate to this worthy cause, please visit the Angel Faces® website at www.angelfaces.com, or purchase Lesia’s book at www.lesiacartelli.com.

National Enquirer’s Own Columnist, Mike Walker, Pens Yet Another Winner In Out For Blood

Houston, TX – Mike Walker, veteran columnist for the National Enquirer and accomplished author, is the only reporter to have ever written two bestselling books on the same major story! This was accomplished when he penned Nicole Brown Simpson: Private Diary of a Life Interrupted with Faye Resnick which hit the #1 New York Times bestselling spot and, just months later, Private Diary of an OJ Juror, co-written with Michael Knox, which hit the #5 spot.

This highly respected author is now drawing rave reviews for his latest hilarious book, Out for Blood. In true form, Walker’s lead character is Clark, who just happens to be the #1 go-to guy for gossip in Hollywood and who makes a living by revealing everyone’s secrets. But only a handful of people know he’s a vampire. This proves to be a real bonus since he uses his power to get the best scoop on the hottest stars of the day!

Mike, a record-breaking regular on Howard Stern’s top-rated radio show for 16 years, has been dubbed “the Hemingway of gossip” by shock-jock Stern. Walker’s inimitable skill as a storyteller, coupled with his charm and unassuming wit, has made him an all-time favorite on television and radio and a repeat guest on such top TV shows as Nightline, Larry King Live, The O’Reilly Factor, Maury, Nancy Grace, Joan Rivers, A Current Affair, Entertainment Tonight, and Politically Incorrect. (Note: Nancy Grace, in her novel The Eleventh Victim, featured “Mike Walker of Snoop Magazine.”)

Mike hosted the nationally syndicated ‘Mike Walker Show’ on the Westwood One Network (CBS) for years that was heard on 165 stations nationwide and 24 BBC affiliates and independent stations throughout Great Britain. He was also co-anchor on ‘Geraldo,’ making more appearances than any other guest on that show ever! He then created and hosted the MGM-TV hit series, “National Enquirer TV.” Although best known for his skills as Hollywood’s #1 source of celebrity gossip, Mike Walker is also the highly respected author of several successful books to date, including the novel Malicious Intent.

Walker has lectured on journalism and gossip at such distinguished journalism schools as the University of California at Berkeley and Columbia University. He also scored the prestigious invitation to become a Fellow of Ireland’s legendary Trinity College, Dublin.
Walker and his wife of 40 years live in both Palm Beach, Florida, and in Los Angeles, California. They raised two children, both of whom are grown.
