Layla: How One Woman’s Horrific Story Became The Driving Force To Save The Lost And Abused Living On America’s Streets

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Petaluma,CA,  – Jeannie Kerrigan and Katherine Patton of Ricky’s Revolution Non-profit walk along the streets at night handing out Rickys, stuffed monkeys embroidered with national safety and shelter hot-line numbers, to remind those in need that help is just a phone call away.

As Street Team Leaders they go onto the streets personally interacting with children, youth and adults involved in acute situations of violence and
homelessness.

The monkey’s name is Ricky; doubly significant because he was named after Jeannie’s treasured stuffed monkey she had as a child that was lost the day she was abducted and raped as a young girl.

FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY,  — Frank Watson draws thousands of followers with a deceptively simple magic…  His short form micropoetry on Twitter “is like gold leaves floating in the wind.” His most
recent poetry collection
Seas to
Mulberries
(Plum White Press) is receiving more accolades.

“….It’s refreshing to see his words in a bound format….readers will find Seas to Mulberriesilluminating.” His work is
notable for its concise, yet powerful and deep imagery and emotional force. Haiku-like
short poems, usually of 3-6 lines, focus on making a sudden impact while

receive a very positive response from thousands of followers on Twitter,
getting retweeted regularly and receiving multiple mentions.

In a
journey across the landscapes of time and place, between the changes in life
like the evolution of sand and sea, Watson’s poetry tells of the human heart
through tiny stories and images that linger in the mind as a meditation of the
soul.

Watson’s earlier work
includes
One Hundred Leaves, a
translation of a Japanese poetry anthology
compiled
in the 13th century. Including one poem each from one hundred poets living from
the 7th century to the 13th century, the book covers a wide array of themes and
personal styles. One Hundred Leaves

calligraphic font, the pronunciation, and side-by-side art work beautifully
illustrating each poem’s theme.

He is also editor of Poetry
Nook,
a
monthly journal seeking the best poetry and art that captures the interaction
between the senses—of images, sounds, tastes, smells, touch—and emotions. Frank
Watson was born in Venice, California and now lives in New York City. He enjoys
literature, art, calligraphy, history, jazz, international culture, and travel.
His work has appeared in various literary journals, anthologies, e-zines, and

Getting Old Before Your Time: Immediate Sacrifices You Must Make Today to Live Longer

FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE

Fort
Lauderdale, FL, – We wouldn’t expect a car to run well if we
didn’t maintain it, yet we expect our bodies to keep going even when we eat a
poor diet or do little to no exercise. We all have to age, that’s a given, but
we don’t have to accelerate the process and get old before our time. Dr.
Raymond Francis has already helped thousands put “incurable” diseases into
remission, shed excess weight, and achieve peak immunity from disease. Now, in
his latest book,
Never Feel Old Again
(HCI Communications), he shares his ground-breaking approach to help us reverse
accelerated aging and enjoy robust health and wellness.

“What
is astounding is that today we are measuring 30 year-olds with the biological
markers of 80 year-olds and a few years ago 10 year-olds were measured with the
biological markers of 45 year-olds!” says Dr. Francis. “If you are biologically
45 at age 10, what will you be at age 50?” This has produced an epidemic of
children suffering from diseases of aging such as cancer, diabetes and
cardiovascular disease. While these children are chronologically young, they
are biologically old!

Accelerated
aging is not natural yet it currently affects our entire society, resulting in widespread
chronic and degenerative disease and out-of-control healthcare costs. The good
news is that the human body is a self-repairing system and as long as we
support its repair function, we can stay biologically young. In Dr. Francis’
book, readers gain a fundamental understanding of why we experience accelerated
aging and learn how to keep their bodies in good repair to look and feel their
best at any age.

In
our celebrity-driven society that promotes surface beauty, people panic when
they feel or look old and often tend to see plastic surgery, Botox injections,
fillers, or even hormone-replacement therapies as the answer. The author reminds
us: “These things do not yield meaningful results because they fail to activate
the body’s self-repair mechanisms and often make it worse by introducing
additional toxins into the body.” Dr. Francis’ book provides a simple system of
health and disease that almost anyone can understand and put to use in their
life enabling them to get healthy and stay that way!

Raymond
Francis is an internationally recognized leader in the field of optimal-health
maintenance. A chemist by training and a graduate of M.I.T., he is the author
of numerous bestselling books that have been translated into five languages. Raymond
is the creator of the Beyond Health Model, a revolutionary and simplified
understanding of health that can be taught to a child yet is powerful enough to
cure terminal cancer. He used his knowledge of biochemistry to save his own
life over 28 years ago and today, at age 76, he enjoys an extraordinary level
of health. A guest speaker on over 2000 radio and TV shows, Raymond has
addressed health conferences nationwide and around the world.

How-to Burglar Proof Homes and Businesses: Valuable Advice from a Security Expert

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nashville, TN,  – When the economy goes down, crime goes up! Burglaries and home invasions have hit record levels. The most troubling fact to many is that these crimes are occurring far more frequently in rural and suburban areas. Gun and home security system sales have also hit record levels as people look for ways to protect their homes and families.  With the holidays approaching, homeowners must take some basic steps to keep intruders out of their homes.

Alan Young has made keeping people safe his life’s work. He is a sought-after speaker and security expert whose advice and products have been featured in magazines, newspapers, on numerous radio shows, and on top TV shows such as The Today Show, Fox News, Bloomberg, The CBS Early Show, The Discovery Channel, “It Takes a Thief,” and HGTV. Alan has given numerous talks to police forces, police academies and homeowners associations on ways to improve the physical security of their homes and lessen the chance of becoming a victim.

Crime is no longer a “bad area” problem. In the past several years, the increased distribution of methamphetamine and other drugs has dramatically increased the amount of crime in rural areas. “Better” suburban areas have also seen a significant increase in crime during that same time frame. “It’s pretty simple, thieves have finally figured out that people in better areas have more things that are worth stealing and ‘new age’ drugs have really changed rural America,” says Young.

Young is concerned that most people view security as how to reaction to an invasion, rather on how to prevent one. He reminds homeowners that a home alarm doesn’t work until after an intruder is inside and a gun is a last resort that can only be used if the gun owner is at home.  He believes that several major misconceptions, such as “alarm systems keep you safe,” continue to put people at risk. “Police response time to a home alarm system is often over 20 minutes and most thieves can be in and out of a home in less than 5. Someone can kick in your door and be in your house in 10 seconds; is that enough time to find your gun? Will your spouse or children know how to use your gun if you are away? The key is to take steps to keep them out in the first place,” says Young.

Young’s advice to homeowners is to be proactive: “Don’t announce vacation plans on social media sites, install proper lighting inside and out, keep shrubs trimmed, and most important, secure the exterior doors,” says Young. Adding, “Securing your doors and windows is crucial to increasing the likelihood of success against a burglar. There are simply too many easy targets out there. Make sure that you are not one of them.”

Alan Young graduated Vanderbilt University with a B.S. degree and a dual major in Organizational Development and Economics, and an MBA from Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management. Following graduation, he had a brief professional football career and joined Banc of America Securities as an investment banker, where he executed mergers & acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

It was after Young began rehabbing properties that experienced repeated break-ins that he and his engineer brother formed Armor Concepts and started producing the highly successful EZ Armor, Door Jamb Armor and ArmorDoor products, which are sold through Lowe’s, Menards and other retailers. “Armor Concepts was formed as a way to provide economical products that homeowners can use to secure their homes. Education is my passion so I have made it a personal mission to educate others on how to think about security,” says Young. Adding, “Crime always increases around the holidays, which are right around the corner, so people really need to think about enjoying their holidays and avoid becoming a statistic.”

EZ Armor was recently recommended in an online article about apartment security as “an affordable door security device that will strengthen your entryways and help prevent unwelcome intruders from forcing their way in.” For more information on Alan Young or his products, please visit www.armorconcepts.com.

Exposing the Fitness Club Industry’s Dirty Laundry

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Hope, PA, – Not since the 1985 movie Perfect, starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis, have fitness clubs been exposed to the degree of Memoirs of a Gym Rat: One man’s 20-year journey through the bowels of the health club industry, by Max Hawthorne. Hawthorne pulls from his real-life experiences to uncover shocking behind-the-scenes shenanigans with his humorous but eye-opening account of our nation’s health clubs.

“After 20 years in the business, I’ve seen it all,” says Hawthorne. “Walk into almost any fitness club around the nation and you’ll find it – sex, drugs, deceit, membership cons, locker robberies – you’ll be shocked to know what really goes on at these clubs, both during and after business hours. It’s all very troubling.”

Fitness clubs have adopted a radically different culture from years’ past. Oftentimes, being coined a “meat-market,” due to rampant SEXcapades among local hard-bodies, gym rat culture has taken a sharper turn for the worse. There’s the Jillian Michael’s wanna-be personal trainer, who screams out orders while getting a little ‘too much’ pleasure from your pain and inevitable post-workout vomiting. Then there is the slimy sales rep, who cuts down your self-esteem with shady tactics to convince you to sign a contract that will surely outlive you. And don’t forget the steroid-infused, Hercules types, whose obsession with sex surpasses the size of their biceps.

Hawthorne introduces us to a hilarious cast of characters with twisted wit and clever anecdotes, while guiding you through best practices to getting the fit body you want, without getting caught up in the negative side of a gym rat’s existence.

Max Hawthorne has more than twenty years in the health club industry. He’s a certified personal trainer, an avid boxer and martial artist, and has studied anatomy and kinesiology. He has seen it all, been part of it, and now plans to expose it!

Available at fine bookstores, online outlets and author’s website.

Monkeys Saving Humans Is A Real Possibility This Holiday Season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Petaluma, CA,  – “Ricky” is a small stuffed monkey embroidered with hotline contact numbers and given out free to shelters and to anyone alone on the streets. He was recreated in the image of Jeannie Kerrigan’s little stuffed monkey she had as a child that was lost when she was raped as a young girl. Today, Jeannie is the Founder of Ricky’s Revolution, along with Co-founder Katherine Patton. Through the use of Ricky, this non-profit (501)3 national outreach program provides information about national hotlines, safety and shelter options (including rape crisis), a runaway hotline, safe house and domestic violence hotline.

Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness and Ricky is a tangible reminder that help is available. He represents renewed hope for runaway and homeless youth, victims of domestic violence, and victims of sexual abuse, by giving them the information they need to reach places of safety as quickly as possible.

As Street Team Leaders, Jeannie and Katherine go onto the streets personally handing out thousands of Rickys and interacting with individuals involved in acute situations of violence and homelessness. Additionally, Ricky’s Revolution has volunteer-based Shelter Teams within multiple communities who deliver Rickys to shelters locally. This unique distribution process also allows volunteer community members to become a part of the process in helping bring these issues to the forefront. This remarkable non-profit works diligently to bring awareness to the general population that issues of abuse, rape, incest, runaway youth and the homeless need attention now!

Jeannie Kerrigan also wrote Layla, her deeply moving memoir that tells her shocking story of a horrific life of incest, physical abuse, rape, stripping, and prostitution in a world of drugs and insanity. It speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves, as do the Ricky monkeys being circulated on the streets of America.

Founder and Executive Director, Jeannie enjoys a successful 14-year practice in Santa Fe, NM and California. She is a healer, teacher, author, and spiritual leader whose experience has made her one of the most effective public speakers on the planet.

Co-founder and Director Katherine Patton has over 20 years of experience as professional counselor and educator, working with abused youth, emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, and their families. Katherine understands and believes in the value of human connection as a vital and integral part of the healing process.
