Making A Difference In Life By Becoming Part Of The Solution Not The Problem

San Antonio, TX,  – San Antonio evangelical preacher Matthew Hagee’s new release Response Able: What my father taught me about life and making a difference (Charisma Media) offers the insights of a lifetime on parenting, self-reliance and affecting societal change. The key to any significant transformation, according to Hagee, is a refusal of the sense of entitlement often associated with Gen-Y and Millennials. Instead, Hagee argues that readers should embrace self-reliance and acknowledge the individual’s God-given ability to respond in a positive manner, regardless of the circumstances.

“One of the most valuable lessons my father taught me was to focus on what I can do, rather than what I cannot,” says Hagee. “If your life is on a course that you would indeed like to change, you can change it. No matter what.”

Matthew Hagee, the son of global evangelist John Hagee, serves as Executive Pastor of the 20-thousand member Cornerstone Church founded by his father in San Antonio, Texas. The elder Hagee launched the church more than three decades ago, growing it into one of the most influential and charismatic Christian communities in the country. The companion TV ministry now reaches almost 100 million homes in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa and New Zealand.  Matthew Hagee, the heir-apparent to the church and TV ministry, uses many lessons taught by his father as the framework of Response Able.

With some parents working two jobs or both parents working more than 40 hours a week, Hagee wants to help parents break the cycle of shrinking family time in America. To do this, he has issued a provocative challenge to the parents in his flock. He calls it the 707 Challenge and he wants parents to sign up for this ongoing campaign that requires moms and dads to commit to spending at least seventy minutes per day with their children, seven days a week, for seventy days.

“The time has come for this generation to take responsibility for tomorrow,” says Hagee, “and the response begins with you.”

Hagee’s book offers faith-based insight and guidance on initiating powerful change in personal, social, financial, educational and political arenas. Hagee bases his premise on a conviction that principle should be the compass by which to guide one’s life, and not passion.

“Principles are powerful,” says Hagee. “They will make men out of boys and instill a foundation in future generations that cannot be shaken.”

Other foundational concepts offered in the book include:

Responsible people submit to authority, namely God
Declare war on the status quo
 Invest in others, primarily children
 Patience rewarded
 Gratitude
 The joy of giving

And many more concepts chiseled into his character by his father’s loving guidance. For more information on this remarkable man and his new book, visit: www.response-ablethebook.org.

By This Mother’s Actions, It Was Evident She Was Taking No Chances In Getting Her Miracle

Ellaville, GA, – Jackie Carpenter lived through an experience that no parent should have to go through. It began in June of 2008 when her son apprehended thieves in the act of stealing copper from his work site. The thefts were increasing and, on the advice of a deputy, he was armed and trying to keep the men there while he called police when the gun accidentally fired, and one man died from his wounds.

The Bridge: Between Cell Block A and a Miracle is Psalm 91 (Xulon Publishing) by Jackie Carpenter tells the powerful and compelling story of her terrifying journey that began the morning she received a frantic call from her son’s wife telling her that he had been arrested for felony murder, and it did not end until the jury returned its verdict ten months later.

Jackie had been living the great life; she had a wonderful husband, good health, two married sons and four beautiful grandchildren. She had it all. But after her son was taken into custody and charged with felony murder and four other serious charges, and the deputy recanted the advice he gave her son, her world fell apart.

Jackie clung to Psalm 91, asking God for a miracle. During the trial, her son’s attorney had asked her not to bring her Bible into the courtroom for fear of offending a non-believing juror. Jackie couldn’t do that. She was asking God for a miracle – how could she take the chance of offending Him? The Bridge is the story of a ten-month journey up to that fateful day in April 2009 when Jackie got her miracle in the form of an acquittal.

While The Bridge: Between Cell Block A and a Miracle is Psalm 91 is a story of a mother’s love and her walk of faith, the sequel Georgia Justice: A Story To Faith acts as a guide for building faith in the face of tragedy and grief. Jackie had never believed that she would serve to be a resource for people facing a crisis in life – but it took the worst crisis in her life and the miracle that stemmed from it to drive her to write her heart-wrenching story. It is a powerful testimony to the spiritual strength this small-town girl found in the promises of Psalm 91 and how she built her faith up during the tormenting ten months leading up to her son’s trial.

Jackie Carpenter has been a featured guest on television, radio, and in newspaper articles. Her two powerful books will be produced into a motion picture that will be in theaters the fall of 2012. TIP SHEET:

Bob Etier, Blog Critics:  “The Bridge is a book for people who believe in miracles.  It is also for people who need to be reminded that during troubling times, God is not the guilty party. Even devout Christians sometimes need to be reminded that their strength is in the Lord, and The Bridge serves as that reminder.”

Emory Daniels, Book Reviews: “The Bridge clearly demonstrates that God still performs miracles in the 21st century.  A key point is that when bad things happen it’s better to trust God than to blame Him. The story also reveals that it is certainly possible to survive a tragedy without losing faith.”

Monique, Book Pleasures: “This is a good, inspirational story…you can absolutely see the conviction in her (Jackie’s) heart that God’s love and grace alone brought her through this difficult time…she simply wants to share her miracle with you.”

The First Book Of Its Kind On One Of The Greatest Sources Of Religious Inspiration Of All Time

Torrance, CA. – A Buddha is one who has attained the highest level of enlightenment in the Cosmos and Buddhism teaches that the Cosmos contains innumerable worlds similar to ours, with countless number of Buddhas. Buddhism also teaches that there are fifty-two levels of enlightenment, the highest of which is called the “enlightenment of a Buddha.”

The Story Of Buddha: A Graphic Biography (Ichimannendo Publishing) by Hisashi Ota is believed to be the first book on the life story of Buddha and his teachings in Manga – a revered practice by the Japanese of using comics for explanation and illustration,.

When the Buddha was a young man he was called Siddhartha and he dealt with similar struggles that we have today. He was born as a crown prince and was blessed by having an extremely beautiful wife. He had it all – money, fame, position, wealth – there was nothing he needed yet even with all of his possessions he was not totally happy. He felt there was something missing in his life and he wondered how there could be meaning in the same routine day after day. That is when he went in search of happiness…and a search for answers to the age-old question, “what is the meaning of life?” began. Little did this dissatisfied prince from the foothills of the Himalayas know that 2,600 years later he would be considered one of the world’s greatest sources of religious inspiration!

Hisashi Ota, the author of this remarkable book, was born in Japan and graduated from Nagoya University’s School of Science.

Without Taking Sides, One Man Tries A Fresh Approach To End The Ongoing Debate On Evolution

Ascot Media (Press Release) – Houston, TX, May 28, 2011 — A lover of the outdoors, Ron Frost has spent many hours on canoeing trips in different parts of the world, providing him ample time for meditation and connecting with his own spirituality. Also, his qualifications as a professor enable him to lay out the facts of evolution that nearly everyone can agree on!  The earth is immensely old, life can be traced to one ancient predecessor, and creatures have changed progressively over time.

In Religion Versus Science: Where Both Sides go Wrong in The Great Evolution Debate (O-Books), Ron Frost sheds new light on the argument that has been at the center of many cultural wars and separates worldly, secular people from Christians and other religions. Frost’s book brings a fresh approach to both sides of this seemingly never-ending debate and offers something for every belief.

In Religion Versus Science, Frost works from the premise that science, which deals with the materialistic aspects of reality, and religion, which deals with the subjective way we relate to the outer world, are compatible rather than contradictory ways of viewing reality. He notes that it is understandable why Evangelical Christians have long been irritated by scientists ‘stretching’ the facts to present the “scientific” view that evolution is a sort of hit and miss process where the only value to human life is as a transporter of all-important genes!

In his book, Frost shows that the religious view where we are immersed in a spiritual dimension can be combined with scientific evidence for the antiquity of the Earth to form a theory of evolution that is consistent with the principal teachings of all but the most Fundamentalist of the world’s religions.

His years as an editor for two major scientific journals and a professor of Geology at the University of Wyoming, together with twenty-five years as a practicing Buddhist, gives Ron Frost noteworthy credentials for finding a common ground between science and religion.  For more information, please visit the author’s website at: www.ronfrost.com
