LaDonna Gatlin Swapped Touring With Her Famous Brothers For A Life Of Inspiring Others

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Frisco, TX – Even though LaDonna Gatlin loved making music with her famous siblings, The Gatlin Brothers, she realized she had a different path to follow in life. So, taking a giant leap of faith years ago and leaving country music behind paid off−because today she enjoys recognition and respect as an accomplished author, singer, and inspirational speaker. In fact, in 2005 she was one of five speakers, and the only woman that year, to be inducted into the National Speakers Association’s Hall of Fame! Using wit, wisdom and song on her journey through life, LaDonna has inspired thousands of people to uncover their potential, purpose and passion and find their unique inner ‘voice’ in order to become the best they can possibly be.

LaDonna Gatlin originally toured with her brothers as part of ‘The Gatlin Quartet’ until a funny thing happened on the road to stardom that changed the course of her life–she fell in love and got married. LaDonna says, “My brothers went on to produce hit records. I went on to produce two children!”

In her latest book, The Song in You: Finding Your Voice, Redefining Your Life (HCI Books), co-authored with Mike Marino, PhD, LaDonna shares why she took a different ‘tour,’ choosing instead to raise children, put family first, overcome adversity and help others discover their own ‘song.’

Understanding that it’s that ‘song’ that lies deep within each of us that sets us apart and makes us special, worthy and unique, LaDonna uses her sharp wit, engaging communication style and sound wisdom in her book to motivate and inspire readers to connect with their voice, and embrace a life of purpose and meaning.

The Song in You is filled with practical, emotional and spiritual insights from LaDonna’s life experiences, both as part of her famous musical family and as a woman whose Christian faith caused her to walk away from fame and fortune to travel the world with Christian music pioneer Dallas Holm and evangelist David Wilkerson (from The Cross and the Switchblade movie).

LaDonna has devoted her entire career to empowering people to ‘sing their own song’ through their words, deeds, and actions. She speaks from the heart with stories that drive home common-sense wisdom for everyday living. Her presentations educate, inspire, entertain and are an unforgettable experience for her audiences as she shares her message around the globe−from corporate powerhouses to the prison cells of death row.

LaDonna has also recorded four solo CDs and is a contributing writer to the bestselling book series Chicken Soup for the Soul. She lives in a Dallas suburb with her husband (and best friend) of thirty-eight years, Tim Johnson. They have two adult children who have blessed them with five grandchildren…and counting. Mike Marino, PhD, is a well-known speaker, author, counselor, and media personality−having hosted a nationally-syndicated, call-in radio program for five years and produced broadcast programming, live events, and written materials for such diverse people as Dr. Laura Schlessinger, PBS-TV’s Daniel Amen, MD, and the Reverend Billy Graham.

Mike has served as corporate vice president at the world-renowned Amen Clinics, presided over a nationwide network of over 600 mental health clinicians while president of New Life Ministries, and was a senior executive at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. His hands-on, practical experience running psychiatric hospitals and substance abuse recovery centers laid the groundwork for his life-changing message of genuine hope and healing.

A Cry For Justice: The True Story Of A Mother’s Journey Of Fear, Anger, Love And Triumph

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Atlanta, GA – Jackie Carpenter never dreamed she would be an author, let alone have a movie made about anything in her life. She had always thought of herself as a typical wife, mother and businesswoman with a fairly idyllic life. That all changed in 2008 during one of those dreaded ‘middle-of-the-night’ phone calls that came from her daughter-in-law. Jackie had no way of knowing how that phone call would plunge her into the hellish journey ahead and a battle to bring her family through every parent’s worst nightmare.

A Cry for Justice (Triple Horse Studios) is the award-winning movie, based on Jackie’s two books, that tells the true story of what her family endured after her son was arrested for murder.

Jackie’s son had been plagued by copper thefts at his work site and, on the advice of a local policeman, had armed himself and hid on the property to catch the thieves. They showed up that night as they had many other nights and while her son held them at gunpoint, waiting for the police to arrive, the gun accidentally discharged killing one of the thieves. Jackie’s son was arrested and jailed for felony murder.

With a prosecutor who was hell-bent on getting a life sentence for her son, Jackie had never had her strength so challenged or her faith so tested as it would be in the months ahead. All she knew was that her world was spinning out of control and she didn’t know how she was going to get her family through this ordeal.

Inspired by her two books, The Bridge: Between Cell Block A and a Miracle is Psalm 91 and Georgia Justice: A Journey to Faith that tell her passionate story, the movie covers the months leading up to the trial and the white-knuckle suspense as the courtroom drama unfolds, showing how Jackie found the strength and faith needed to hold her family together up to the spine-chilling day the jury reached their verdict!

While Jackie was recently nominated to the category of “People to Watch 2013” at the first-ever Annual Georgia Entertainment Gala, the movie has already won several awards, including one for best screenplay. Filled with suspense, and with great stars playing the key roles, it’s no wonder it has become such an instant hit. Jackie is played by award-winning actress Francine Locke (of True Tale Monsters fame), and Jason is played by Drew Matthews who recently played in Vampire Diaries. Darrel Ervin plays the role of Jackie’s supportive husband.

Please watch the exciting movie trailer of this true story of tragedy, trust and triumph that will touch the hearts of parents everywhere at: acryforjusticemovie.com.

The Resilient Woman: Challenging Those Girly Thoughts and Accessing Your Personal Power

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Albany, NY – Dr. Patricia O’Gorman’s latest book, The Resilient Woman: Mastering the 7 Steps to Personal Power (HCI Books), is a vital guidebook for today’s women. Women seem wired to have to make others happy and if they don’t live up to these self-imposed expectations, they blame themselves for the hardships that befall them.

Competing voices vie for women’s attention: societal messages that tell them they aren’t smart enough, pretty enough, good enough—self-sabotaging girly thoughts that tell them who they are and how they should act—and the voice of their inner strength, which helps them forge their own best solutions for their best courses of action.

In The Resilient Woman: Mastering the 7 Steps to Personal Power, Dr. O’Gorman offers a thoughtful analysis of the causes of girly thoughts as well as in-depth self-evaluation assessments any woman can use to identify her personal strengths, weaknesses, and resilience style. She created seven daily steps that offer concrete strategies for women to create and strengthen their own resilience. The book is a ‘must-read’ tool for self-growth for women of any age.

In The Resilient Woman, readers discover:

•    resilience patterns established in childhood
•    how girly thoughts become so powerful and how to neutralize them
•    relationship issues that are specific to women
•    how to overcome physical/ psychological/emotional trauma
•    how to self-motivate by losing the victim mentality
•    methods for tuning in to the inner self and consciously align with personal strengths to expand their personal power
•    what resiliency is and is not and how to achieve it
•    personal resilience patterns

“Women often miss the path toward achieving their true potential because they have been conditioned to blame themselves for something someone else has done to them,” says Dr. O’Gorman. “But with the right tools to break the cycle, they will learn to consciously harness and nurture their strengths and find the personal assets we often take for granted, realizing that a resilient life is generated not from the things that happened to us, but from our reaction to them.”

Patricia O’Gorman, PhD is an internationally recognized psychologist, coach, and public speaker for her work on women, trauma, and substance abuse. She was one of the first researchers in children of alcoholics in the early 1970s, documenting the impact of alcoholism and sobriety on adolescent development, and went on to create the Department of Prevention and Education for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD). She is also a cofounder of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics and has run a rape-crisis center.

Dr. O’Gorman is a veteran of numerous television appearances, including Good Morning America, Today, and AM Sunday, and is the author of numerous articles in magazines including Addiction Today, Teen Vogue, Counselor, and Recovery. Dr. O’Gorman maintains private practice offices in Saranac Lake and Albany, New York. For information, please visit: www.patriciaogorman.com .

Get Caught In The Crossfire! Sylvia Day’s Crossfire Series Sells Over Five Million Books In 2012!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2013 To Be Even Bigger With The Release Of The Most Anticipated Novel Of The Year, Entwined With You

New York, NY – #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series, which includes number one international bestsellers Bared to You and Reflected in You, has sold over six million books in its first eight months of publication. After the overnight success of Bared to You, the Crossfire series firmly established itself as one of the most popular series in the nation when its second book, Reflected in You, easily took the #1 spot on The New York Times bestseller list with 389,000 trade paperbacks and ebooks sold in its first week of sales. The overwhelming success of both Bared to You and Reflected in You sets the table for Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series to explode in 2013 with the next installment in the series, Entwined with You (June 4, 2013).

The first book in the Crossfire series, Bared to You, helped bring acceptance that some fiction can’t be pigeonholed. Reflected in You sealed the deal. The Crossfire series has defied genre and become a massive commercial success almost overnight. “I hear from readers of all ages and walks of life…  I am beyond thrilled that the Crossfire series has touched so many,” said Day. Now at the forefront of public interest following ten years as a full-time, bestselling writer, Sylvia Day is one of the most high-profile names in commercial fiction. Since Bared to You’s explosive start last summer, followed by Reflected in You’s even bigger splash, the Crossfire series has been featured in USA Today, People, The Evening Standard, Time, Variety and more recently, Entertainment Weekly, Associated Press, and The Wall Street Journal.

Bared to You, Day’s sixteenth novel, was an immediate hit as her first self-published, single title release, selling 100,000 eBooks before being quickly acquired by Berkley Books. Bared to You debuted at #4 on the New York Times trade paperback fiction bestseller list and is a Top 5 Bestseller in 18 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and Brazil. Most recently, Bared to You was named one of Amazon’s Top 10 Romances of 2012 and was Amazon’s #7 bestselling book of 2012. Furthermore, Bared to You was the #5 bestselling book of 2012 on iTunes and appeared in the Top 10 list of Print Book Sales of 2012 in Adult Fiction in the Nielsen Tops of 2012, ending the year on the same note of success that has followed the Crossfire series since its inception.

The second novel in the Crossfire series, Reflected in You, debuted as the #1 bestselling book on The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and Canadian Booksellers Association lists.  Across the Atlantic, Day’s newest stormed to #1 with over 80,000 copies sold in week one in the UK— Penguin UK’s fastest selling paperback ever. Reflected in You has sold over 1.5 million copies alone in the US and is a #1 bestseller in 3 countries—the UK, Ireland, and the US. Reflected in You was Amazon’s #8 bestselling book of 2012 and was the #8 bestselling book of 2012 on iTunes. As the first book ever to knock Fifty Shades of Grey out of the top slot on the New York Times bestseller list, Reflected in You continues to gain attention and recognition.

As insatiable fans eagerly await Entwined with You this June 4th, the staunch sales of Bared to You and Reflected in You continue to demonstrate that new readers are getting caught in the Crossfire series each week, setting the table for Entwined with You to be Day’s biggest to date. “As a young couple navigating the first serious love affair either of them has ever had, Gideon and Eva are learning from their mistakes and making new ones, while being tested by challenges both external and internal. These two passionate and tempestuous lovers have dark pasts to overcome, but their all-consuming and deeply physical love for each other is worth fighting for and they know it,” said Day about what fans can expect with Entwined with You.  After selling in a record-breaking 39 countries and counting, the Crossfire series remains one of the biggest commercial fiction series in the world, and promises only bigger things to come.

Why Behavior-Based Sales Training Comes Up Short: Thinking Approach Gets to the Root of Selling and Buying Decisions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lake Lure, NC – Sales training and coaching strategies that focus primarily on behaviors aren’t adequately preparing sales professionals to connect, persuade and win in today’s tough environment. The reason, according to Herrmann International research, is that selling approaches and buying decisions are rooted in thinking, not behaviors. By embedding thinking into development strategies, companies will be able to improve sales training results and generate higher revenue, account penetration and client loyalty levels.

“Our more than 30 years of research on the brain and business performance has shown that thinking styles impact how we process information, how we buy and sell, what we pay most attention to, and how we make decisions,” says Ann Herrmann-Nehdi, CEO of Herrmann International. “Behavioral approaches can help the salesperson manage a sales conversation in an efficient way, but they don’t reflect the mental processes that actually drive sales activities or purchasing decisions, so they don’t provide the complete set of tools to be persuasive, effective and responsive. Particularly in today’s demanding world, many external factors are impacting behavior; thinking is what’s constant.”

Herrmann-Nehdi says the company advises clients to look at the entire sales process for opportunities to maximize efforts through a framework of thinking, including:

•    Mapping the mental demands of the sales job to find alignment and uncover gaps
•    Using thinking preference data to maximize time spent in training
•    Optimizing coaching strategies by taking into account the thinking styles of the manager/coach and the salesperson
•    Providing training and tools to uncover customer thinking preferences and communicate, present and sell with the customer in mind

“The best part is this doesn’t require throwing out everything you’re already doing or slowing down the process,” Orin Salas, VP of Sales at Herrmann International, adds. “It actually helps salespeople get prepared, proficient and closing larger, more profitable deals on a faster pace. In fact, one client reduced training time from 24 months to 7 using this approach. It also allows the salesperson to focus their attention in the most high-value way, which is especially important in today’s noisy, pressure-filled environment.”

Herrmann International has compiled best practices, research and tips for using a thinking-based framework to improve sales performance in the free white paper, Wired for Sales: Supercharge Sales Professionals’ Performance in a Demanding World. The paper explores the reasons traditional behavior-based sales training comes up short, the role thinking preferences play in buying decisions and selling approaches, tips for assessing and applying thinking to sales development strategies, and techniques to quickly build the proficiency and performance sales professionals. Additional tools will be available at the Herrmann International booth at the Sales 2.0 Conference, April 9-10 in San Francisco.

Houston, TX –
Peter Sacco, noted psychologist and author, has spent most of his adult

By
