New Book Predicts ‘The Death Of Billions By 2025’

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Palm Beach, FL – What happens when the
world’s oil reserves finally run out? Did you know that without oil we
can only produce enough food to feed 500 million people? That means 6
billion people would die, and tens of millions more would perish from
cold, heat, lack of medical care . . . and killer mobs.

New York
Times bestselling author Steve Alten’s new thriller, The Omega Project,
opens with a Die-Off that wipes out most of humanity. And that’s just
the opening act…

Imagine yourself as one of the Die-Off’s
survivors. Fusion energy is the key to humanity’s future and the
computer you programmed will oversee mining operations of a critical
element on Jupiter’s frozen moon, Europa. To prepare for the mission,
you and six men and women train in a habitat beneath the Ross Sea in
Antarctica. During the last thirty days you and the crew will be
cryogenically frozen — a trial run for the space mission. You awaken to
find the habitat sinking, the ice gone and 12 million years have
passed! Humanity went extinct, evolution has run amok, a new
intelligence is in its infancy – and the computer that you programmed to
keep an eye on things while you were asleep has developed a
god-complex.

Publishers Weekly calls The Omega Project “an
exuberant thriller.” Reviewers have called it an “epic tale” and yet the
author calls it a warning of things that could transpire in the next
fifteen years if we continue our march toward extinction.

Says
Alten, “Peak Oil is as real as gravity; just because the powers-that-be
in Washington and Wall Street prefer to deny it only increases its
eventual impact. In war there is a common enemy; in a natural
catastrophe there is a bond of humanity to aid those in need. In a
Die-Off, it’s every family for itself.

“The first sign of
trouble will be power outages which evolve into rolling blackouts.
Government officials will assure the public that oil reserves will last
another thirty years, even as prices spike and the lines at the local
gas station stretch for miles. The grocery store becomes a battlefront
as every non-perishable left on the shelf is fought over. These
scenarios will degenerate into civil disorder and mandatory curfews,
unleashing the military. The first long winter without heat will wipe
out families living in the Snowbelt. No more potable water; no more
hospital services or prescriptions. The government will shut down,
society will collapse, and now it is officially every family for itself.
Instead of enacting programs that could stop the die-off, our elected
officials are holding the hands of ‘big oil,’ effectively leading
society over the cliff.”

About the author:

Steve Alten, a
native of Philadelphia, earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State, a
master’s degree from the University of Delaware, and a doctorate from
Temple University. Alten is the bestselling author of the MEG series.
The series is an international best seller and Hollywood has purchased
the movie rights. Alten is also the founder and director of
Adopt-An-Author, a free nationwide teen reading program.

Barnes & Noble named the book as one of its top four selections for summer 2013.

Woman On Top: Learning to Crawl Again and Finding Out You Have the Strength to Run

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY – Deborah Schwartz’s Woman On
Top is the triumphant story of a young widow whose journey to find
herself takes readers on an entertaining, yet thought-provoking ride.
Inspired by her true-life story, Schwartz’ Woman on Top is a battle cry
for any woman who ever let someone make her feel less than worthy.
Further, it’s a lesson to us all that we hold the power to reach any
summit.

It is often said that, it’s not the hills or mountains
you have to climb that gives you strength; it’s the challenge you face
on your journey by having a pebble in your shoe.  In protagonist Kate’s
case, the pebble felt more like a boulder. She was thrown into
single-dom after her husband died from cancer.  After a few years, she
ventures back into the dating scene and meets Len, a Wall Street
banker.  What Kate discovers is a cocky narcissist who quickly tries to
control every aspect of her life.

Readers will scream in
frustration at Len’s controlling behavior while high-fiving Kate’s
efforts and subsequent achievements to finding herself again.  She shows
us that we are truly in-charge of our destiny, and (in reflection) that
there are more important things in life than what kind of car you
drive.  In her stand-up-and-applaud road to independence, she reaches
the highest heights.  Literally, with a rewarding climb of Mt.
Kilimanjaro.

Born and raised in New York, Deborah Schwartz
graduated from Tufts University and then obtained her Masters in History
at Columbia University where she wrote her graduate thesis on “Feminism
in Eighteenth Century England.” She received her J.D. from Boston
University. Always a New Yorker to the core, Deborah’s passion now is
writing.

Renewable Energy – Following The Money – It Will Be Interesting To See Where It Takes Us…

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Santa Ynez, CA – The concept of ‘following
the money’ is nothing new. In fact, Socrates had it right 2500 years
ago when he said, “All wars are about money.” Just look at the world
today to see how true that is! Similar words were uttered by the
mysterious informant in the Watergate scandal during Richard Nixon’s
term in office – ‘Follow the money.’ This phrase, in fact, has become so
iconographic in our times that it has its own page on Wikipedia!

“Do
you get the feeling that the energy industry and the Congress that it
owns are deliberately lying to you?  If so, you are 100% correct,” says
Craig Shields, author of Renewable Energy – Following the Money (Clean
Energy Press). In his book, Shields reiterates the effects that
economics and financial power have on the course of the energy industry
and offers short essays on the subject of energy policy and how he
believes we need to navigate the waters associated with a migration to a
sustainable course in energy.

It should come as no surprise that
the energy industry is the most profitable on Earth; the annual
earnings of the top five oil companies alone are mind-boggling. It’s
foolish to think they would want this to change or to lose their
position of leadership–and any attempt to alter their plans would mean
fighting against the single most powerful political force in the known
universe.

The world’s concerns over the health and environmental
effects of consuming fossil fuels increase with each passing year,
making this a far more interesting subject than it was a few decades
ago. With roughly 200 sovereign countries on our planet, there are many
differing opinions and emotions can run deep on the subject–depending
on the country, its government, levels of affluence and access to energy
resources.

“One thing is certain,” says Shields, “Those who
believe the working of the world have even the remotest bearing on
what’s good for the seven billion people who live here are in for a rude
shock.” While he isn’t sure where all of this is going, he suggests
following the money to see where it takes us.

“What’s going on
around us, of which world energy policy is only one example, is anything
but an accident; it’s a careful unfolding of events designed to further
enrich an extremely slender minority of interests – and guess what?
Change of any type – especially the radical change that our civilization
so desperately needs in its approach to transportation and energy – is
not part of their plan,” says Shields.

Shields’ current work
follows his first two book projects; Renewable Energy—Facts and
Fantasies (2010) and Is Renewable Really Doable? (2012). His position as
editor of 2GreenEnergy and Clean Energy Press enables Craig to use the
business skills he accumulated over three decades as owner and manager
of a marketing agency for Fortune-sized clients (acting as his company’s
spokesperson making live and on-camera presentations to thousands of
business audiences worldwide), to forward concepts that are central to
our survival as a species. His interactive website: www.2GreenEnergy.com enables people around the globe to share important ideas on all forms of renewable energy.

Craig
Shields believes there’s a chance humankind can forge a sustainable
path to its consumption of resources here on Earth, but adds: “If we are
to make it happen, it will be because of a largely informed electorate
that understands and honestly cares what’s going on around them.”

“Seatbelts fastened? Let’s follow the money…,” says Shields. But are we ready for what we might find?

Probability Chain Leaves You Breathless And Eager For More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Roswell, GA –
For most of us, day-to-day  life is fairly predictable. But it only takes a single creative spark to send us off on a wild ride, and Probability Chain, Part 1 fills the bill.

What if your life as you know it is not your life? What if the reality you live in is not the only reality? And what if you are not the only . . . you?

Every option we don’t take when making a decision generates new instances of our lives and, sometimes, vastly different and dangerous realities. From the highly creative mind of author Regan Keeter, the twists and turns of Probability Chain keep your imagination in overdrive.

Science fiction buffs will recognize the story concept as inspired by Hugh Everett’s “Many Worlds” theory. It begins with a young woman appearing
out of nowhere, in the middle of a six-lane intersection, bleeding from her throat. At the same time, the protagonist wakes up to find an intruder in the house and his foster father dead. After he calls the police, Brian goes for the gun he keeps under his bed, but in its place finds a note saying “The police will get here in time.”

Another anonymous note, a mysterious bottle of pills, a secret passage, a strange young woman who appears over and over: more than a few baffling
twists engage the reader before Brian begins to suspect it’s all linked to his work as an intern and the disappearance of an experimental drug that transports those who ingest it between dimensions.

Notable for its original thinking, Probability Chain also boasts an unusual format. “The series is being released in short segments because I want
to provide affordable and engaging stories that can be read in a single sitting,” Keeter says. “Single-sitting readings allow the reader to
truly enjoy the story as it was intended to be enjoyed.” Each story, available for 99 cents as an Amazon download, picks up where the last left off, ultimately creating a complex tale, epic in scope.

Regan Keeter has been writing professionally for more than eleven years, working as an author, journalist, and technical writer. For more, please

Courtroom Drama Spotlights The Right To Stand Your Ground – A Cry For Justice

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ellaville, GA – No mother should have to
endure the ordeal that Jackie Carpenter and her family were put through
as a result of her son’s arrest after he accidentally shot a man
stealing from his worksite. And never in her wildest dreams could this
Georgia mom have known that she would become an author as a result of
this terrifying experience, that her two books would be made into an
award-winning movie, or that her son’s case would be considered
“textbook” in the annals of legal cases and be taught to future first
year law students!

Taking first place recently in the Alaska
International Film Festival, Stand Your Ground: A Cry For Justice by
Triple Horse Studios is the award-winning movie that tells the gripping
story of Jackie Carpenter’s quest to save her family. Jackie’s idyllic
life was frozen in time the day she heard her son was arrested for
felony murder when all he did was defend his worksite from constant
theft. Unfortunately, as he held the men at bay while waiting for the
police to arrive, his gun accidentally fired and one of the men died.
This is a movie that everyone needs to see because it shows how
something that happens in a split second can change a life forever.
While it has all the terror and tragedy of a blockbuster movie hit, this
one is real life!

Stand Your Ground, showing in select theaters
beginning January 17, 2014, tells the explosive story of the ten-month
trial and how Jackie Carpenter’s faith was tested to the max. The
trailer for the movie won Award of Excellence in the Best Short
Competition and Award of Merit in The Accolade Competition, and has been
nominated as Best Picture in the ICVM Crown Awards and entered in the
Gideon Film Festival! Please watch: acryforjusticemovie.com to see the exciting trailer.

Feeling
physically, mentally and emotionally ill through the first six months
of this ordeal resulted in Jackie questioning her faith. All this loving
mom knew was that she needed God on her side throughout the trial and
she prayed relentlessly, asking for strength and renewed faith. Once she
stopped doubting, courage replaced fear and she knew that God heard her
plea.

Jackie’s first book, The Bridge: Between Cell Block A and a
Miracle is Psalm 91 (Xulon Publishing) tells the traumatic events after
her son’s arrest and how she used the prayer of protection, Psalm 91,
to help face the turmoil of emotions raging through her and help her
find the strength to hold her family together. Her second book, Georgia
Justice, is a story of building faith. Jackie was able to overcome the
grips of doubt and depression and her book acts as a guide for anyone
wanting to renew and strengthen faith and hope on the road to ultimate
victory.

Jackie Carpenter has been a featured guest on
television, radio, and in newspaper articles. For information on Jackie
and her books, or the extraordinary movie that will have audiences
white-knuckled and hanging on to the edge of their seats, please visit: www.bridgetoamiracle.com .

Home Invasions Hit Record Levels In Rural and Suburban Areas: Expert Offers “Common Sense” Tips to Keep Intruders Out

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nashville, TN –
When the economy goes down, crime goes up! Burglaries and home
invasions have hit record levels. The most troubling fact to many is
that these crimes are occurring far more frequently in rural and
suburban areas. Gun and home security system sales have also hit record
levels as people look for ways to protect their homes and families.
With the holidays approaching, homeowners must take some basic steps to
keep intruders out of their homes.

Alan Young has made keeping
people safe his life’s work. He is a sought-after speaker and security
expert whose advice and products have been featured in magazines,
newspapers, on numerous radio shows, and on top TV shows such as The
Today Show, Fox News, Bloomberg, The CBS Early Show, The Discovery
Channel, “It Takes a Thief,” and HGTV. Alan has given numerous talks to
police forces, police academies and homeowners associations on ways to
improve the physical security of their homes and lessen the chance of
becoming a victim.

Crime is no longer a “bad area” problem. In
the past several years, the increased distribution of methamphetamine
and other drugs has dramatically increased the amount of crime in rural
areas. “Better” suburban areas have also seen a significant increase in
crime during that same time frame. “It’s pretty simple, thieves have
finally figured out that people in better areas have more things that
are worth stealing and ‘new age’ drugs have really changed rural
America,” says Young.

Young is concerned that most people view
security as how to reaction to an invasion, rather on how to prevent
one. He reminds homeowners that a home alarm doesn’t work until after an
intruder is inside and a gun is a last resort that can only be used if
the gun owner is at home.  He believes that several major
misconceptions, such as “alarm systems keep you safe,” continue to put
people at risk. “Police response time to a home alarm system is often
over 20 minutes and most thieves can be in and out of a home in less
than 5. Someone can kick in your door and be in your house in 10
seconds; is that enough time to find your gun? Will your spouse or
children know how to use your gun if you are away? The key is to take
steps to keep them out in the first place,” says Young.

Young’s
advice to homeowners is to be proactive: “Don’t announce vacation plans
on social media sites, install proper lighting inside and out, keep
shrubs trimmed, and most important, secure the exterior doors,” says
Young. Adding, “Securing your doors and windows is crucial to increasing
the likelihood of success against a burglar. There are simply too many
easy targets out there. Make sure that you are not one of them.”

Alan
Young graduated Vanderbilt University with a B.S. degree and a dual
major in Organizational Development and Economics, and an MBA from
Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management. Following graduation, he had a
brief professional football career and joined Banc of America Securities
as an investment banker, where he executed mergers & acquisitions
and capital raising transactions.

It was after Young began
rehabbing properties that experienced repeated break-ins that he and his
engineer brother formed Armor Concepts and started producing the highly
successful EZ Armor, Door Jamb Armor and ArmorDoor products, which are
sold through Lowe’s, Menards and other retailers. “Armor Concepts was
formed as a way to provide economical products that homeowners can use
to secure their homes. Education is my passion so I have made it a
personal mission to educate others on how to think about security,” says
Young. Adding, “Crime always increases around the holidays, which are
right around the corner, so people really need to think about enjoying
their holidays and avoid becoming a statistic.”

EZ Armor was
recently recommended in an online article about apartment security as
“an affordable door security device that will strengthen your entryways
and help prevent unwelcome intruders from forcing their way in.” For
more information on Alan Young or his products, please visit www.armorconcepts.com .
