Doctors Prescribe Bedroom, Not Pharmacy, In Their ‘10 Proven Steps to Ultimate Health’

Ascot Media Group (Press Release) – Southlake, Texas, April 25, 2011 – They aren’t suggesting you cajole your spouse into bed with the plaintive wail, “But honey, it’s doctor’s orders!”  Some might try that approach, of course, but the physicians who wrote “Stay Young: 10 Proven Steps to Ultimate Health” are simply saying that sex is good for you.

It’s all there in Chapter 8 – by far the most talked-about pages of “Stay Young” (George House Publishing, 2010), a hot-selling book from authors Mark Anderson, MD; Walter Gaman, MD; and Judith Gaman, health expert and public speaker.

The book’s cover depicts an attractive, naked couple cuddling under the sheets, so you know right away this isn’t your typical health and wellness guide. But don’t go looking for pure titillation in Chapter 8. The doctors present their case in a straightforward, convincing manner and support it with case studies and facts. But there’s no denying they have turned health into an – ahem – exciting topic, and when’s the last time you saw the word “sexy” next to healthcare?

“The fountain of youth can be found between the sheets,” said Dr. Anderson, who, along with the Gamans, runs Executive Medicine of Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  “Frequent intercourse causes the brain to release human growth hormone, which helps maintain youth.”

Dr. Gaman points out that “middle-aged men who have sex five times a week can lower the risk for prostate cancer by 33 percent, compared to those that have sex only five times a month.”

Judy Gaman adds another startling fact: “Vigorous sex three times a week for a year is the equivalent caloric burn as walking 75 miles.”

Staying Young: 10 Proven Steps to Ultimate Health is the first health book to include a weekly orgasm chart so readers can log their number of orgasms and how long they engaged in sex each day.

Is more always better? Whether or not a point of diminishing returns exists, Dr. Anderson is convinced that “having sex can increase your immunity. A recent study showed that sexual intercourse at least three times a week can increase IGA, a protein that acts as an antibody by binding to pathogens that enter the body.”

One Woman’s Tireless Efforts Bring Hope to the Hopeless

Ascot Media Group (Press Release) – Houston, TX, May 28, 2011 — Everyone on the island of Isla Mujeres knows Alison Sawyer Current – she is the woman who has dedicated her life to rescuing and caring for abused and discarded animals whose future would be extremely bleak without her intervention.  She has helped to decrease the pet population through ongoing spay and neuter programs, education, vaccinations and adoption.  Perhaps the following true story and its outcome best describes what Alison deals with on a daily basis and what keeps her going in spite of such adversity:

This story is about Roco, a callously abused dog, who was brought to Alison as a last resort after tourists gave the owner money to take Roco to the vet and then realized that the owner’s only goal was spending the money at the closest bar to drink to Roco’s health!  Out of all the sad cases she had seen over the years, Roco was one of the saddest. The owner had kept him on the roof of his house and regularly forgot to feed or water him, or provide any kind of shelter from the unrelenting sun – even leaving him there while the roof was being re-tarred!  Needless to say, Roco had tar matted into 70% of the fur covering his body, and in the moist, warm place that was between his skin and the tar there thrived every kind of parasite imaginable. Using a sharp blade, Alison had to slowly cut the fur under the tar until it could be peeled off like cloth!

Roco’s feet and his ears were completely full of tics and infection and even after Alison removed as many tics as she could and bathed him – he was still anything but a pretty sight!  But what made this sad sight even sadder, was that Roco eyes were rimmed with infection and he was found to have a serious eye condition that almost cost him his sight. The condition was so severe that under more normal circumstances it might have required more than one operation – in Roco’s case, the vets at the spay and neuter clinic had to operate no less than five times!

That was six years ago and, thanks to Alison and her volunteers, Roco is now a healthy, happy dog with a shiny black coat who thinks he is king of the castle at Isla Animals – a title he so rightly earned and deserves!

Isla Animals has proudly saved the lives of over 4,450 dogs in the past decade and Alison Sawyer Current, also a writer who selflessly donates her book’s proceeds to saving more animals, is the operator of this unofficial humane society. A famous quote of Mahatma Gandhi says it all: The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

Groundbreaking Information Helps Diagnose Silent Seizures Early And Could Change The Lives of Thousands Of Children Diagnosed With Autism

Ascot Media Group (Press Release) – Houston, TX, May 28, 2011 – We know that autism is a physical condition that is linked to abnormal biology and chemistry in the brain and affects the brain’s normal development of social and communication skills.  Silently Seizing: Autism’s Hidden Syndrome (CJL Publishing) by Caren Haines, RN, is a breakthrough book that explores what most doctors won’t tell you – that in some cases the symptoms of autism are caused by seizures undetectable with standard diagnostic tools.

This is a first-of-its-kind book that explores this little-known but crucial relationship between autism and seizures that has been hidden until recently, resulting in a heartrending outcome for children who are not receiving effective treatment because the seizure element is not addressed. That is, until now. Thankfully, because of innovative clinicians and researchers who acknowledge that in order to accurately diagnose autism it is imperative to look for seizure activity in the brain, there is help.

Many doctors have seen first-hand that children show measurable gains when treated early on for seizures and many of these children actually end up having their autism diagnosis replaced with a diagnosis of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE), which is easily manageable with the right medications.  As the doctors who have generously shared their wisdom in this book understand – if an unrecognized seizure disorder turns out to be the culprit then treating it can produce a miracle of healing for these children.

Caren Haines, the author of Silently Seizing, is a registered nurse with extensive medical experience.  She has done exhaustive research for her notable book, together with input from parents of autistic children, as well as help from colleagues and medical experts.  Caren has already helped families coping with this strife to become free from the debilitating episodes of seizure and psychosis which can literally bring a family to its knees.  For more information, please visit her website at:  www.silentlyseizing.com.

Reformed Bad Boy Gives Women Great Dating Advice By Exposing Secrets Of Why Men Do The Things They Do

Raymond

Shreveport, Louisiana, May 28, 2011- If you’ve ever been cheated on, wondered why the guy never calls when he said he would, or can’t seem to get past the bedroom when you start dating a guy, Rodney L. Demery’s candid book, Things My Daughters Need To Know: A Cop and Father’s View of Sex, Relationships and Happiness (The Demery Group Publishing) will help get you answers to these relationship dilemmas by examining the dating habits of this self-proclaimed serial dater.

After working for over two decades on homicide, sex crimes, narcotics and armed robbery investigations, there is little that could shock or surprise Detective Rodney Demery, and he shares both his professional and personal life experiences as an investigator and a dater as a way of helping women see their lives and loves in a different way so they can learn to read their own dating situations better and hopefully change the outcome.

Rodney Demery’s own life was shaped by murder when his mother was shot in the back nine times by her husband, and having his life framed by infidelity may be part of the reason he could not settle down. He admits he earned the title in the past of ‘bad boy’ where women were concerned, but is quick to express that he’s learned to be better and, as a result, his life is filled with hope as he looks for lasting love. Gritty and raw at times, his book is an honest portrayal of one man’s sexual escapades, troubled relationships, and journey to maturity.

In Things My Daughters Need To Know, women will get honesty and a straightforward approach to relationships from a cop/father’s point of view, and learn valuable information such as why abstinence helps get you the man, why career women end up single, what men really think when you show up in a skimpy outfit, how technology is helping men juggle women, and whether a cheater will really leave his wife for you!

This virtual guide to understanding men is the perfect legacy for Demery to leave his daughters – one they can put to good use and better prepare them in their choice of men and relationships.
