Walking the Line: New Book Illuminates a Path Toward Awareness, Joy and Spiritual Authenticity

Walking the Line: New Book Illuminates a Path Toward Awareness, Joy and Spiritual Authenticity

(This press release may be reprinted in part or entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet, or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Is the common platitude “out of sight, out of mind” eroding spiritual conviction and connection? Senior pastor Alan Davey thinks so.

“We forget him so quickly. … We are conditioned constantly by the values of our noisy world, and we find substitutes for our Leader in a plethora of interests and desires,” Davey writes. “Subsequently, we become tired Christians who suffer from a lack of conviction, authenticity, and prophetic insight.”

Davey underscores the value and importance of understanding and following the rules of Jesus — not just for individuals but for entire communities of faith — in his new book, Walking the Line: Embracing the Imperatives of Jesus.

In it, Davey shares insightful commentary, perspectives from a rich variety of Christian sources and authors, and lessons from Jesus himself to create an accessible guide to viewing the Bible and Christ’s teachings in a fresh light. Included are original drawings from the late artist Joy Kim and study questions at the end of each chapter to help reinforce the messages.

“The rule of Jesus articulated in Matthew’s Gospel is neither obscure nor archaic,” Davey says. “Jesus’ imperatives speak powerfully to the contemporary issues of our day, and do so by illuminating a way of clarity, simplicity and love.”

Author Alan Davey is the senior pastor of Weston Park Baptist Church, an inner-city church in Toronto, and Adjunct Professor of Christian Spirituality and Worship at Tyndale University and Seminary. He is co-author of Climbing the Spiritual Mountain (Wipf & Stock, 2014), Abba’s Whisper (Wipf & Stock, 2017) and The Passionate Bride (Wipf & Stock, 2019).

Davey is also an avid scuba diver, hiker, singer, guitarist and art lover. While writing Walking the Line, Davey was asked to officiate at the funeral for his wife’s niece, the late artist, teacher and musician, Joy Kim. While leafing through a collection from her final exhibition, “Have You Walked in My Shoes?”, Davey was inspired to include some of her oil pastel drawings of shoes, boots, and slippers in his book to represent the disciples who embrace Jesus’ imperatives in the everyday of their lives.

‘Stand Firm’ and Other Insights for End-Time Preparations

‘Stand Firm’ and Other Insights for End-Time Preparations

(This press release may be reprinted in part or entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet, or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The concept of the rapture looms over believers, instilling hope in some but fear in many others. After all, no one knows exactly when it will happen or how long any tribulation will last.

“People are already reacting with fear. … I think it’s an important topic to deal with because so many — I mean, many — really do not have a grasp of the scriptures that talk about the end-time,” Bible scholar David S. Heeren said in a recent interview.

Heeren has written extensively on the topic of end-time prophecy, and in his fifth book on the subject, End-Time Living: Despite Conflict and Hardship, All Is Well, he trains his focus on the preparations necessary prior to the end-time and the power of redemptive love to minimize any tribulation.
“Through the sacrificial life and death of Jesus, all believers have access to the unconditional love and forgiveness of God,” Heeren said. “When things get tough during the end-time, He will be pleased with us if we display the same kind of compassion for those who hate us and are active enemies. This will glorify the risen Christ.”

In End-Time Living, Heeren draws his messaging from the second half of the Bible, featuring details from relevant sermons of Jesus (Matthew 5-7, 24 and Luke 21) and the eight chapters of the beautiful allegory, Song of Songs.

Included are 15 points of emphasis presented as keys to a God-honoring lifestyle; the true story of a 12-year-old Christian boy who openly expressed love for the man who beat his mother to death; the story of the enduring legacy of missionary Richard Wurmbrand and his underground ministry; and Heeren’s deeply personal account of his wife, Joan, and her tremendous capacity for love.

Despite the perilous end of days setting that forms the backdrop for End-Time Living, Heeren centers his narrative on the reasons why believers should remain hopeful that any tribulation will be short-lived, and the rewards for those who stand firm for Him until the end will be everlasting.

“We should be happy and hopeful because we are headed for a victorious finale, the Second Coming of Jesus, which will be a cause of celebration to millions upon millions of people who will meet Him in the air,” Heeren says.

David S. Heeren is an award-winning journalist and author of 17 books. A personal prayer identical to that of Isaiah (Is. 6:8) led him to change his career emphasis from sports writing to Christian writing in 2007. Since that time, he has published nine books with Christian themes, five of which deal with biblical end-time prophecy. His previous book, The High Sign, which identifies the most likely sign of Jesus’ Second Coming, received a double-four-star (perfect) rating from the Online Book Club — the highest rating awarded by the club.

His upcoming Christian novel, Year of Our Lord, has been praised by literary critic David Dickerson as “by far the most exciting in the In His Steps series.”

At the Heart of the Holidays: A Time for Spiritual Rebirth and Enlightenment

At the Heart of the Holidays: A Time for Spiritual Rebirth and Enlightenment
Writings emphasize positive impact of forming deep connection with the All Spirit

(This press release may be reprinted in part or entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet, or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

If there is one thing we can all depend on through life’s ups and downs, it is the source of all existence, posits minister and licensed psychotherapist Dr. Pieter Noomen.

“Compare it with how a person functions with millions of different parts, including unseen activities like thinking and feeling. Certain parts may fail, yet the unit remains intact as one person during one’s lifetime. So it is with the totality of all. It is always there. It is forever,” he shared in his writings.

Dr. Noomen began to develop a deep connection with a spiritual presence more than 25 years ago while studying the work of Dr. Peter D. Francuch, who communicated with what he called “the Positive State.” Dr. Noomen would go on to significantly widen his own spiritual path and have extraordinary experiences on the spiritual plane.

He chronicles his journey and the insights he gained on his website, www.wordsforall.org. He writes about the 12 components of life: Oneness, Love, Life, Fire, Space, Connectedness, Progression, Effect, Freedom, Joy, Differentness and Harmony; shares 147 thought-provoking questions and the illuminating answers that came to him during his communications with the All Spirit; and details his extraordinary journeys in the spiritual dimension, including how the very first visit began: a strong light coming through a cracked door.

The message that forms the foundation of his writings on www.wordsforall.org is that directly or indirectly, life stems from one common source, and to connect with that source is the highest level of existence we can achieve on earth.

“May all the sayings of this website touch a chord in you that lifts up your spirit,” Dr. Noomen wrote.

Born in the Netherlands, Pieter Noomen completed doctoral studies in theology and pastoral psychology at the Free University of Amsterdam and was senior minister of three protestant churches. Later, he worked as a psychotherapist and as a staff member of a Los Angeles metropolitan church. He was involved in mental health issues like suicide prevention and hospice. Sadly, Dr. Noomen passed away in 2019, but his wealth of wisdom and insights freely shared on www.wordsforall.org will continue to inspire people throughout the world to broaden their spiritual paths.

An example from Dr. Noomen’s Wisdoms of the Week at www.wordsforall.org:

“Is regularly making room in our thinking for spiritual issues worthwhile? I think so! One, it will never be at the cost of the truth we have already hidden in us. To the contrary. Two, not just thinking of, but truly connecting with the One Spirit of Life, (Allah, God, Higher Power, etc.) as with a Person, immensely expands, inspires and consolidates our being on the right track during our time on earth and beyond that.”

How to Raise Children Who Can Cope With Adversity

How to Raise Children Who Can Cope With Adversity

(This press release may be reprinted in part or in its entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Being a teenager in today’s “age of anxiety” is scary. Being a parent of a teenager is even scarier. Zoomers may seem more together, more confident and more independent than prior generations, but in fact, they are more anxious, lonely and emotionally fragile, and less resilient to stress, says psychoanalyst, clinical social worker and parenting expert Erica Komisar.

“We are asking children to handle more — more stress, more stimulation, more pressure, more choices and more decisions — without giving them a secure foundation of support, emotional security, and real and meaningful connections,” says Komisar.

Her important new book, Chicken Little the Sky Isn’t Falling: Raising Resilient Adolescents in the New Age of Anxiety, is a comprehensive guide filled with compassionate and practical advice to help parents guide, educate and connect with their children on a range of current topics, including gender and sexual identity, anxiety and depression, disordered eating, ADHD, vaping, social media and bullying, to name a few.

Chicken Little also contains valuable insights intended to help readers prevent, recognize and address mental health disorders, as well as help their teens navigate academic and social pressures, social media and technology usage, increased social isolation and family pressures. With Komisar’s guidance and support, parents will learn how to be beacons of hope and change, as well as how to raise emotionally healthy, resilient adolescents.

End-Time Living Helps Believers Prepare for Second Coming of Jesus

End-Time Living Helps Believers Prepare for Second Coming of Jesus

(This press release may be reprinted in part or entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet, or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

When Jesus spoke to the disciples about his Second Coming, he emphasized the importance of preparing ahead of time for the end of days. As he cautions in Mat. 24:44, “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man (Jesus) will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

“To be prepared for this troubled time will require understanding what will be going on and why,” explains Bible scholar David S. Heeren. “Otherwise, it will be scary, and many believers will take flight (mentally and even physically) as did the early disciples when they saw Jesus was about to be murdered.”

Spirituality Can Help Us Find the Light in Every Darkness

Spirituality Can Help Us Find the Light in Every Darkness
Words For All website shares messages of healing, love and unity.

(This press release may be reprinted in part or entirety by any print or broadcast media outlet, or used by any means of social media sharing.)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minister and licensed psychotherapist Dr. Pieter Noomen developed a deep connection with a spiritual presence, and one by one, the 12 components of life came to him: Oneness, Love, Life, Fire, Space, Connectedness, Progression, Effect, Freedom, Joy, Differentness and Harmony.

“On an evening walk, out of the blue, I heard in a clear voice that was in and around me, without comment, the 12 ingredients or components of everything that exists, one each day,” Dr. Noomen wrote. “It was at a time that the question about what life, my life, was really all about, was much on my mind. Then came the voice. For more than a year, I didn’t know what to do with what I had heard. It dawned upon me that I could write down what it stirred up in me.”

Dr. Noomen’s journey toward forming a conscious closeness to the source of all existence began more than 25 years ago when he studied the work of Dr. Peter D. Francuch, who communicated with what he called “the Positive State.” Dr. Noomen would go on to significantly widen his own spiritual path and have extraordinary experiences on the spiritual plane.

On his website, www.wordsforall.org, Dr. Noomen shares 147 thought-provoking questions and the illuminating answers that came to him during his communications with the All Spirit. Readers will also find 10 rules for praying, wisdoms of the week, and detailed descriptions of his extraordinary journeys in the spiritual dimension, including how the very first visit began: a strong light coming through a cracked door.

The message that forms the foundation of his writings on www.wordsforall.org is that directly or indirectly, life stems from one common source, and to connect with that source is the highest level of existence we can achieve on earth.

An example from Dr. Noomen’s Wisdoms of the Week at www.wordsforall.org:

“Gratitude can be something ‘in general’. Yet, thanking for some specific thing can go to the core of who we are. Once, someone bedridden and suffering told me she looked for something, anything, she still could be grateful for. For her, it was the pillow she could put her head on. Realistic? Yes! In every darkness is somewhere a flicker of light. Even if ‘only’ in our spirit.”
